    When April comes along, spring across most of Europe has well and truly sprung. As such, let’s take a look at the ten warmest countries in April for your spring getaway.

    April is one of the best times of the year in many parts of the calendar. It’s not too hot, and it’s not too cold.

    You can head out during the day in light clothing and bring a jacket to keep you warm against the gentle breeze brought on by night.

    If you want to have a warm holiday in April, we’ve got you covered with the ten warmest countries in Europe in April.

    10. Greece – for a warm, comfortable heat

    Greece is a stunning European country that is known for beautiful landscapes, breathtaking beaches, and exciting party islands.

    Located in the south of the country, Kos is consistently one of the hottest Greek islands, and in April, you’ll be able to sit out in the sun with a cold drink and bask in the glory of the warm weather.

    The average daily temperature in Greece in April is around 20 C (68 F), so it’s not too hot, but a warm, comfortable heat.

    9. Cyprus – one of the warmest countries in Europe in April

    Temperatures in Cyprus are similar to that in Greece around April time, averaging around 21 – 23 C (69.8 – 73.4 F) during the day.

    Due to its position in the eastern Mediterranean, it maintains a wonderful heat throughout the month of April.

    Cyprus is known for its surreal archaeological sites, so April is the perfect time to explore them away from the baking heat of the summer. As such, Cyprus is one of the warmest countries in Europe in April.

    8. Spain – head to the Canary Islands

    The Canary Islands are the hottest region of Spain in April, and it’s a beautiful part of the world to visit this time of the year.

    In the grand scheme of Spanish weather, April is relatively mild, with temperatures maxing at around 22 C (71. 6 F).

    You’ll be able to enjoy lying on the beaches during the day and walking around, seeing the sights without breaking a real sweat. Be sure to bring a light jacket in the evenings.

    7. Malta – for long evenings on the beach or by the pool

    A great destination in Europe.

    In April, Malta’s average temperatures sit around 20 C (68 F). With a mild to warm temperature, this is a great destination in April for long evenings spent on the beach or by the pool.

    Spring, in general, is the perfect time to visit Malta because you can enjoy the sites without the crowds the summer brings. It is undoubtedly one of the warmest countries in Europe in April.

    6. Portugal – a great time to visit Lisbon or the Algarve

    Portugal is a stunning country rich with a diverse culture, beautiful food, and a great mix of beach and city to split your time.

    Average temperatures in Portugal in Spain sit at around 18 – 20 C (64.4 – 68 F) during the day. Whether it’s Lisbon or the Algarve you choose to visit, April is a great time of year to journey to Portugal.

    5. Italy – explore the continent’s culture

    Italy is known as the boot of Europe.

    Known as the boot of Europe, Italy’s temperatures sit at an average of 18 – 20 C (64.4 – 68 F) in April. Italy is a stunning part of the continent, with so much culture to see and explore.

    Not forgetting the delicious Italian food that can be found from the top of the country to the bottom, which can be enjoyed outside on most days in the month of April.

    Just like most places in Europe at this time of year, be sure to bring warmer clothes for the cool evenings.

    4. France – head down south

    France is one of the warmest countries in Europe in April.

    While the north of the country is considerably colder, the southern region of France reaches average temperatures of between 17 – 19 C (62.6 – 66 F) in April.

    The southern part of the country is truly unique to the rest of France, and being so close to the coast, the fresh seafood is to die for. If you’re thinking of visiting Europe this April, be sure to put France on your list.

    3. Croatia – for beautiful coastal landscapes and charming port towns

    Croatia is one of the warmest countries in Europe in April.

    Much like France, Croatia is a couple of degrees colder than most of the entries on this list, with average temperatures of around 17 – 19 C (62.6 – 66 F) in April. However, that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be considered.

    Hvar is one of the warmest parts of the country in April and is home to charming port towns, beautiful coastal landscapes and a unique culture to explore.

    2. Armenia – a lesser travelled European country

    Average maximum temperatures in Armenia in April reach up to 20 C (68 F). One of the lesser travelled European routes, it would certainly be a shame to forget about Armenia if you’re considering a spring trip to Europe.

    1. Hungary – the perfect time to visit Budapest

    Hungary is certainly one of the cooler entries on our list, with average daily temperatures of 15 C (59 F). Nonetheless, it remains one of the warmest countries in Europe in April.

    If you are visiting the Hungarian capital of Budapest, April is a wonderful time to visit because there are fewer crowds, and it can be pretty hot and sweaty during the summer months. So, you can explore everything the city and wider country have to offer in comfort.
