Filming locations for popular Christmas movies have been revealed ahead of the festive season.

Filming locations for popular Christmas movies have been revealed.

Travel experts at StressFreeCarRental.com have picked out seven filming locations from classic Christmas films fans can actually visit.

Christmas movie lovers are now able to step inside the world of their favourite seasonal movies at filming spots around the world.

Fans can visit the iconic house in London where Mark expresses his love to Juliet in Love Actually, and travel on the very train which inspired The Polar Express through Michigan, USA.

The family favourite Nativity! was mostly shot in the West Midlands – where people can explore the filming locations such as Warwick Castle, Coventry Cathedral, Stratford-upon-Avon and Avoncroft Museum.

John Charnock, CEO of StressFreeCarRental.com said: “Every year people from all over the world snuggle up and put on their favourite Christmas film to get into the festive spirit.

“But now fans can actually visit the filming locations of some of the most classic festive movies.

“You can ride on the train that inspired The Polar Express and go ice skating at the Rockefeller Christmas tree where Buddy and Jovie have their first kiss in Elf.

“Fans can also visit iconic homes of Christmas movie characters – like the McCallisters’ house in Home Alone and Ralphie Parker’s home in A Christmas Story.”

Here are StressFreeCarRental.com’s iconic Christmas filming locations you can actually visit:

    7. St. Lukes Mews, Notting Hill − Love Actually

Love Actually fans can visit the iconic scene where Mark expresses his love to Juliet on her doorstep with a series of handwritten signs. The pretty street is St. Lukes Mews in Notting Hill, London – and the pink house at number 27 has become a tourist hotspot for lovers of this Christmas classic.

    6. Warwick Castle − Nativity!

Warwick Castle was the filming location for college scenes. Several other sites in the West Midlands featured as spots in Nativity! such as Avoncroft Museum, Stratford-upon-Avon and Coventry Cathedral.

    5. Owosso, Michigan − The Polar Express

Fans can travel on the very train which inspired this animated film. Starting in Owosso, Michigan, the steam train travels a four-hour round trip to the Village of Ashley Country Christmas.

    4. Shere, Surrey − The Holiday

Fans of this Christmas classic can explore the chocolate-box village where Amanda spends the festive season. Shere, Surrey is a traditional rural English village where visitors can admire the gorgeous landscapes and idyllic country walks.

    3. The Ice Rink at Rockefeller Center, NYC − Elf

Elf was mostly filmed over New York City, featuring the Empire State Building and Macy’s department store – all of which can be visited on a dreamy trip to the Big Apple. But one of the most festive things to do is go skating on the ice rink at the Rockefeller Centre, where Buddy and Jovie share their first kiss.

    2. 671 Lincoln Avenue, Winnetka, Illinois − Home Alone 2

The home of the McCallisters is an impressive red-brick home, attracting fans from all over the world. The local neighbourhood will get anyone in the festive spirit with thousands of lights strung about, just like the film.

    1. 3159 W 11th St, Cleveland, Ohio − A Christmas Story

Now a tourist attraction for fans of this Christmas comedy, the museum has some iconic props used in the film, behind-the-scenes photos and a gift shop. Open to the public all year round, the iconic home of Ralphie Parker is a must-visit.
